1. How has the transition from producer to solo artist been?

The transition is happening quicker than I could have imagined. It’s only been six months since my first performance in Tokyo but being in front of the scene seems like home. Having fans support me for me is something that I could never have imagined as a producer. I’m here in Hong Kong right now finishing another show and the energy is so amazing.

2. You’ve produced some of the biggest acts in Asia, how is the music scene different that the U.S.?

The language is the biggest obstacle, but as long as there is a great melody, there’s an instant connection. The U.S. influences the Asian music scene. But right now, there are other influences from Korea and South East Asia influencing the rest of Asia. I’m giving my all to understand the market because they have welcomed me with open arms from day one. I’m very blessed and fortunate and I love them all.

3. You are close to the Jackson family. Tell us about that relationship.

I grew up with them. My mother was managed by Joseph before I was born and since those days, they’ve been a part of my life. They’ve always been there for me and I will always be there for them. Oh yeah, I’m glad they like my record!

4. “Genesis” is your debut album. What can we expect?

I hope you expect nothing and come away surprised. There was no pressure or timeline on the first album to make it because it was just me and my manager (Jonnie Forster) putting the record together. I wanted to make a record that people will hear and say - “that’s different yet classic.” Im going to add some new songs on the U.S. release as I’m always in the studio recording.

5. What was it like working with Teddy Riley and Sidney Miller on “Genesis.” Is it hard to work with other producers on your own tracks?

Not hard at all. Our relationships have lasted for a long while and we pretty much can feel where we all are going in the creative process, which makes it easier

6. What can we expect from you in 2011?

WOW!  So much. Touring, TV performances, and we have signed some amazing producers to our company, 6 Point Entertainment. We’re finished three international collaborations and yes, we’re even releasing songs and videos back to the States. Can’t wait to see what my home country has to say about B. Howard - the artist.
