Facebook MySpace Mashup. Really?

Facebook has agreed to let MySpace integrate some of its technology. Users can log into their Facebook accounts through MySpace and import their likes and interests to get MySpace entertainment content based on those preferences. It’s so complicated they had to make a demo video.

Mashup your Facebook Likes on Myspace

This is MySpace’s way of trying to stop the mass exodus of its users. I’m not sure a Facebook integration so you can get compelling MySpace entertainment content is the answer. It’s simply not cool anymore to have a MySpace page.

And what’s in this deal for Facebook? I guess, anyone who does not yet have a Facebook profile, will be compelled to get one so they can log into it on their MySpace page and eventually leave MySpace for Facebook.
