According to reports, Lady Gaga and her creative director/choreographer Laurianne Gibson have professionally split after a serious falling out.
Gibson, who has been a part of Gaga’s career from the very beginning, choreographed all of Gaga’s iconic videos, including “Just Dance,” “Paparazzi,” “Telephone” and “Born This Way.” Most recently, Gibson co-directed Gaga’s videos for “Judas” and “Yoü and I,” which fueled the tension between the two.
Gibson expressed her discomfort with the “Judas” video to the Hollywood Reporter, explaining, “At one point, there was two completely different views and after the third glass of wine, I was like, ‘Listen, I don’t want lightning to strike me. I believe in the Gospel and I’m not going there.”
On November 6, Gaga Tweeted news of Gibson’s replacement, her assistant, Richard Jackson, “Warming up with my choreographer Richard Jackson, singing + pinning garments till the last moment. So excited for The Night, gonna Marry It.”
Gaga’s camp has confirmed the split, but no official statement on either side has been made.
