Whitney Houston Dead at 48 - Update
photo

Legendary pop singer Whitney Houston has died at age 48. The cause and location of her death was not immediately known – however reports have surfaced that she may have drowned in bathtub and taken Xanax before she died. Our hearts go out to her family and loved ones.

TMZ reports that Houston was found her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel by her stylist, hairdresser and two bodyguards. She was preparing for the annual pre-Grammy party hosted by her mentor Clive Davis, where she had planned to perform. In “show must go one” attitude, Davis hosted the event with grace and many tributes to Houston.

Houston, who struggled with addiction problems over the years, sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos over her epic career. The soundtrack to “The Bodyguard,” which featured her singing “I Will Always Love You,” is one of the top 10 selling albums of all time.

Houston was set to appear in this year’s “Sparkle,” a remake of the 1976 hit, which was loosely based on the story of The Supremes. It was her first movie role since 1996’s “The Preacher’s Wife.”
