Carlos Santana has gotten engaged after a very public proposal. The musician popped the question to drummer Cindy Blackman following Blackman’s drum solo on “Corazon Espinado.” After Blackman accepted, the couple kissed and the audience broke out into cheers. ¡Cuán romántico!
Shakira sure doesn’t take a break. As The Comet previously reported, she has been balancing her time between building a school in Haiti, learning about immigration law and gearing up for the World Cup. Next on the list – global concert tour! Shakira will embark on a world tour, kicking off September 21 at New York’s Madison Square Garden. But let’s hope “Waka Waka” is left off her set list. So far, Shakira and her soccer theme have failed to impress South Africa, home of this year’s World Cup. We’ve heard there’s even a “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” dance. We hope it’s not this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2YczN8EmO4&feature=related. Nevertheless, she’ll be performing – as will the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys and John Legend – at the pre-tournament concert.
Rapper Pitbull will hit 19 cities this summer on his “Mr. Worldwide Carnaval” tour. The rapper has plans to release a new Spanish album sometime in June and an English album in fall. If that wasn’t enough, Pitbull is also a guest on “Armada Latina” – a single off Cypress Hill’s latest effort “Rise Up,” to be released April 20. No word yet on who will open for Pitbull. Who would you like to see join the tour?
